Losing Weight Safely

The American public has a love-hate relationship with diets. We like to go on them, but when they don’t work at once, we get disgusted and quit. This has created quite a market for fad diets, many of which are quite damaging to the health.

Most of us are fully aware of what is good for us and what isn’t. We just lack the self-control to only eat what is good for us.

Part of the reason for this is that we received the message when we were young, that candy, sweets, ice cream, cake, etc. were desirable and good.

Some women who have been raped or otherwise sexually assaulted gain weight because their sub-conscious wants to make sure no one will look at them that way again.

I know of one person who was abused as a child, and gained weight so the abusive parent would not be able to drag them around.

These messages tend to stay with us as we get older. Sometimes we can change them by ourselves, other times it takes help. This is one area where Hypnotherapy really shines.
